Pippa organized a weekend in Budapest for our anniversary this year. It was lovely. We visited a bath one evening to really experience the culture of the city. On the food side it was also very interesting.

A trip to Babel proved noteworthy as we sampled a fine selection of Hungarian wines and fabulous food from a Transylvanian chef. Babel was Decanter’s wine restaurant of the year in 2017. A title it well deserves.

The food in Budapest was much less Germanic than I thought it would be. Goose and duck liver was on almost every menu. Spicing leaned towards Turkey rather than Germany. My favorite dish of the trip was this this main of goose liver, capsicum and paprika sauce on a fried bread.
